I got a letter yesterday from someone I hadn't heard from in 11 years and it brought a smile to my face
. In these days of texting and emails I'm glad to say I'm still one of those old fashioned folk who enjoys writing and receiving letters and all the better if they are handwritten. Don't get me wrong, I text and email too and they are great for speed but sometimes it's just really nice to sit down and read a real letter and even to get out old ones and re read them (yes I'm guilty of that too and hoarding!
I've always been one for having penfriends from near and far and have been since my teens. Over the years I have made some lovely friends and also been fortunate to meet some of them. Unfortunately I have also lost a few too as letters get more infrequent and finally stop often the only reason being that life takes over the time you would normally spend writing.
I often wonder what some of them are doing so yesterday's arrival was doubly good as it answered that question and now of course gives me the opportunity to write back.
